The Rowan Tree

The Rowan tree has long been honored as a tree of healing and protection, symbolizing both courage and wisdom, it was considered the Tree of Life for the ancient northern Celts. It’s sheltering branches and bright red berries provide nourishment and a safe haven for birds and small animals and it’s hard wood was used to kindle the hearth fires, providing warmth in some of the coldest climes. Even today, wine made from the berries is called “the water of life”, and is thought to be an elixir which contains the healing essence of the sun itself.

At Rowan Tree Healing, we believe healing is a full body, whole being experience. This is why we take a holistic and integrative approach with a clinical framework drawing from many conventional psychological theories and empirically based modalities, combined with evidence supported complimentary and alternative practices when appropriate and desired by the client.

With safety, care and nurture, it is possible to become the person you were meant to be.

My Clinical Framework

I am a Certified Trauma Professional, and EMDR therapist and my focus is in supporting adult survivors of trauma in achieving emotional resiliency and a positive sense of self-worth, so they can experience a greater sense of centeredness and well-being in their lives.

My practice is informed by an integrative clinical framework that is rooted in traditional psychological theory and incorporates innovative, complementary practices for a rich and personalized healing experience that honors the mind, body, and spirit as interconnected aspects of transformation.

I believe therapy is a collaborative process in which you are the expert in your own life. Our work together will focus on creating a safe, non-judgmental space where you can cultivate self-compassion and reconnect with your authentic self. A strong, trusting therapeutic relationship is at the core of this process, allowing for deeper emotional safety, healing, and connection.

We will explore your strengths and values, examine how your beliefs shape your experiences, and discover how they can guide you toward meaningful change. Through self-reflection, we’ll work together to challenge limiting beliefs and shift old narratives, helping you develop a more balanced and empowering perspective on yourself and your life. Healing is not just about understanding—it’s also about how you feel and experience the world. Our work will include reconnecting with the body, emotions, and inner wisdom, restoring a sense of flow, presence, and alignment so that healing can unfold naturally.

There may be times when different parts of you feel at odds—one part may want to move forward while another feels stuck in pain. Our work will include understanding and compassionately integrating these internal parts, helping you move toward a greater sense of wholeness.

Some emotions and experiences are too deep for words, which is why therapy may also include experiential approaches—such as storytelling, ritual, movement, or connecting with nature—to help process and release emotions in meaningful ways. Life may sometimes lead us to question our identity, purpose, or how to move forward after loss or change. Together, we will explore these existential questions and create meaning from your experiences in a way that feels true to you.

For those who seek it, therapy can also be a space for spiritual exploration. Whether through mythology, ancestral connections, or nature-based spirituality, I offer an open and non-judgmental space to integrate these dimensions into your healing journey.
